Expanding development and property management firms Gold Coast House Build and Gold Coast Property Rentals have relocated their headquarters to Robina Group’s $14 million CityPods development at CBDRobina.

Headed by real estate identity Steve Mutton, who formerly owned six Ray White franchises on the Gold Coast, and business partner Cade Wenngren, the companies are now operating from the 163sqm office.

The stand-alone office, CityPod 7, has been leased from developer Robina Group on a five year lease, with a five year option.

CityPods is located on Scottsdale Drive in the thriving M1 Business Precinct and comprises a total of eight completed offices and seven offices that are under construction and due for completion late this year (2014).

More than half of the offices have already been secured for sale or lease.

Mr Mutton said the location at the heart of Robina was ideal for the businesses, which had both been experiencing rapid growth in-line with an upturn in the market.

“The majority of our business is on the northern end of the Gold Coast, so the ease of getting on the M1 was appealing,” he said.

“I used to own an office in Mermaid and when we moved to The Rocket we realised how much more convenient the location in Robina is.

“A lot of the consultants we use for the business are also based in the suburb.”

Mr Mutton said Gold Coast House Build had developed 130 houses in the past 12 months and Gold Coast Property Rentals now managed about 100 properties and continues to grow that side of the business.

“Three years ago, Gold Coast House Build was completing about 20 homes a year, so the business has experienced significant growth and as a result we saw the opportunity to establish Gold Coast Property Rentals about two years ago,” he said.

“70 per cent of our development business is house and land packages and our core area is Coomera, where we’ve just completed 12 townhouses, part of about 110 homes we’ve delivered in the suburb over the past year.

“We’re also about to start building 30 homes in Murwillumbah, which once again made Robina an appealing location, due to its central Gold Coast location and proximity to the M1.”

Mr Mutton said the stylish design of the CityPods stand alone office was also ideal.

“We will utilise the ground floor for the property management business, as it is the perfect space to interact with customers, and will locate the property development side of the business upstairs,” he said.

CityPods range in size from 163sqm to 304sqm.  The development is already home to a range of businesses, including national medical devise distribution specialist Pyramed and design and construction management company Airport Consulting Group.

Robina Group general manager Hylton Slater said there had been strong demand for the offices which has continued to gather pace as more companies moved to the precinct.

“CityPods is a unique concept and really unlike anything available to date in Gold Coast City,” he said.

“Now that the first offices are completed and companies are utilising them, other businesses can get a real sense of the benefit of operating out of such a space.

“It is ideal for small to medium sized businesses that want a sophisticated space in which to service their customers and Gold Coast Property Rentals and Gold Coast House Build are a great example of that.”

Mr Slater said the offices had been designed as a ‘blank canvas’, giving the flexibility for the space to be used as best suited each individual business.

“In saying that, we’ve incorporated a range of quality finishes and inclusions that ensure they all exude the same level of style,” he said.

“Each Office Pod has high ceilings, polished concrete floors, a concrete and timber reception desk, feature timber staircase and kitchenette.

“They also all benefit from the prime location, with immediate access to the Scottsdale Drive business hub, Varsity Lakes train station and CBDRobina’s infrastructure and amenities, like major arterial roads, the M1, Robina Town Centre and Robina Hospital.”
