EIM TRAINING FOUND EDUCATION ZONING AT CAMPUS ALPHA IN ROBINA

Education services provider EIM Training is poised to move into premises in CBDRobina's Campus Alpha building vacated by Mackintosh College.

EIM specialises in up-skilling Australians and had been struggling to find ready-to-occupy premises with the correct zoning and with a suitable size and position.

It is relocating on August 6 from premises in Helensvale to a 511 square metre space in Campus Alpha which, its principal Nick Bottrall says, offers all three in good measure.

“The sudden availability of this space has proved a boon for EIM Training, giving us a central-city location close to rail and bus services that also offers quick access to the Pacific Highway,” he said.

“Having had no success in obtaining an education zoning for our present 280 square metre premises in Sir John Overall Drive, Helensvale, I was wondering what to do next after receiving a council eviction notice.”

“Campus Alpha meets all our requirements as well as providing additional space and staff are absolutely over the moon.”

“Few Gold Coast City buildings meet the requirements for an educational facility, such as the correct zoning and ease of access to public transport and Campus Alpha combines these attributes with an appealing modern design.”

“The presence of other training establishments in the building, such as Australasian Golf Academy, was also a drawcard.”

EIM Training has taken a five-year lease with a five-year option over most of a 980 square metre space vacated by Mackintosh College, which was placed in the hands of liquidation specialists Aggs Robson earlier this month.

Mr Bottrall said EIM's focus on educating Australians had proved to be its strength, particularly since the start of the global financial crisis.

“In such times, people lose jobs and there is strong demand for retraining, which is supported by government,” he said.

“EIM provides not only educational services but also motivation courses to help people regain confidence.”

“I and my staff are proud of the role we play in enabling people to enter or

re-enter the workforce.”

Mr Bottrall established EIM Training in 2004 as a provider of motivational courses and it became a registered training organisation in 2006.

On the Gold Coast, EIM employs 12 staff and 15 contract staff and offers online education as well as classroom-teaching to 300 trainees.

It also has a three-staff operation in Hervey Bay, established two years ago.

EIM provides courses in financial services, business management, business sales, fitness, tourism, training and assessment, retail, competitive manufacturing, transport and logistics, and hospitality and is about to add child-care and aged-care to the list.

It undertakes workplace assessment and training, and has just won a state government User Choice contract to provide skills education to school students who will study at the EIM learning facility one day a week.

Hylton Slater, general manager of Robina Projects Australia which completed the three-level Campus Alpha 18 months ago, said EIM Training was a welcome addition to the CBDRobina business community.

“EIM Training has an important role to play in the provision of work-skills and has great confidence in Campus Alpha and CBDRobina as the best location from which to deliver its services,” he said.

“Campus Alpha also offers other educational opportunities.”

“Part of the remaining space is fitted out as a hairdressing college with the ability to welcome the public as clients allowing students to undertake on-the-job training.

“Additional ready-to-occupy educational space is available on level one of Campus Alpha and we have received interest from a number of other educational organisations.”

“Suitable commercial space zoned for educational purposes is hard to find in Gold Coast City, and Campus Alpha has the required approvals in place.”

Campus Alpha is being marketed by Marcus Weld of Robina Marketing Australia.
